Nitrogen oxide

NOx is the parameter with which we display the concentration of nitrogen oxide (NO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) in the air.  NOx is released mostly through burning fuel in traffic, heating with natural gas, emissions from certain industrial processes and by generating electricity (coal powerplants). NO2 affects the bronchial system.

5
Sulphur dioxide (SO2)

Fossil fuels contain trace amounts of sulphur compounds, that is why SO2 emissions happen mostly by burning fossil fuels. Sulphuric acid, which arises through an atmospheric reaction between SO2 and humidity (water), is the main component in acid rain.

4
Ozone (O3)

Ozone is a highly reactive gas, made up three oxygen atoms. Ozone is released primarily in the emissions of motorized vehicles, industrial emissions, fuel vapours or vapours of solvents, that are the main source of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and volatile organic compounds (VOC), which under the influence of UV-light (sunlight) in proximity of the ground create ozone. Ozone has several adverse health effects, like chest pain, coughing, vomiting or throat irritation.

6
Carbon monoxide (CO)

Carbon monoxide is an odourless, tasteless, and colourless gas that comes from incompletely burning carbon compounds. CO is poisonous, as it displaces oxygen from the haemoglobin in the human bloodstream, and in higher doses causes death.

What we offer

We measure air quality, the results are accessible via our app for our customer and other users, depending on the needs of the costumer.

Our measurements are used to recognise pollutants in the air. Measuring air quality in a local environment for an extended period enables us to detect the sources of pollutants more easily – whether it’s from industrial plants, traffic, or local fireplaces.

Air quality measurements are done online, over an extended period, every day, in short intervals, on multiple locations taking the local conditions and microclimate. That way, we can create a real representation of air pollution in a certain extended period.

The App

You can monitor the results through the app.

Our solutions are being used by several municipalities in Slovenia. Experiences show that the results gathered through our measurements helped them identify the sources of pollution and accept strategies and measures to reduce emissions.

The app, usable on both PC and mobile (currently only Android) enables the users to track air quality in their community in real time and adjust their activities accordingly.

Live data from Škofja Loka

Trata AQI

NO2 19 Low

Measurements of the last 48 hours (hourly average)
PM 2.5 (μg/m3)

The display is based on a colour scale, where red represents high, orange medium and green low pollution. This allows the user to easily understand the air quality measurements according to the legal requirements.

Our citizens can track the data on their mobile devices or on the website of our municipality.

General results

AQI (air quality index) of air pollution shows the current measured emissions and the highest quantity of pollutants among the measured parameters, that have legal requirements.

Live data

Data on each pollutant is the basis of determining air quality within a municipality and a comparison to the legally defined pollutant parameter thresholds. They also serve as a basis for suggestions of countermeasures in a certain field if the thresholds are exceeded.

The app is free to use for all users.

Our vision

We believe that clean air and a clean environment are a basic right, no matter where you live.

Clean air and a clean environment have become key components in quality of life. We have internalized the care for a clean environment. It’s near impossible to find a human being who didn’t care in what kind of environment they live, work, and raise their children.

Because we know how important clean air is, we at Alfa Proxima offer solutions for local communities to help them create a nice and clean environment for their citizens, tenants, customers, … Such an environment ensures that people want to live in it, return to it and build their future in it. It is our wish, that checking air quality before a day out would become a habit like checking the weather.

About us

Alfa Proxima is a young company that combines the experience of air quality measuring technology planners, programmers, and developers. We are lifting the product of the individuals who brought the SensWare solution to an operational stage, to a higher level of operation.

Our team of experts has the knowledge to complete these tasks, we have developed our own solutions and cooperate closely with experts from the environmental agency of the Republic of Slovenia and abroad. We work hard to bring you the newest technological solutions and results comparable to those of official institutions.

The model of cooperation is simple: you explain your expectations and needs to our experts. We advise you about the sensible measurements and locations. You rent our measuring equipment and we provide the maintenance and technical support and ensure that you can access the data about the measured pollutants.
