In 2025, Alfa Proxima will expand its network with several new monitoring devices for the continuous monitoring of the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Slovenian municipalities and abroad.
In this way, Alfa Proxima is supplementing ARSO‘s monitoring system in Slovenia, improving knowledge and understanding of the problem of air pollution in Slovenia.
What is the state of air quality today?
Unfortunately for residents, and regardless of who conducts the monitoring, all the data indicates poor air quality or the exceeding of the limit values.
Drawing conclusions about air quality based on our perceptions, without knowing the actual measured air quality data, generates fear among people and increases intolerance between those with differing views, while doing nothing to improve air quality.
The only proper approach for addressing air quality is to rely on actual measured air quality values. Only high-quality, continuous monitoring of individual air pollutants makes it possible to develop effective solutions for reducing pollution.

These technologically and functionally optimized monitoring devices are affordable even for smaller municipalities. The high-quality monitoring stations operate in accordance with established EU standards and regulations. The monitoring stations have a modular design and support a wide range of sensors that measure various parameters. Meteorological data include temperature, air pressure and humidity. Among pollutants, we monitor particulate matter, nitrogen oxides, and ozone. The stations also measure noise in accordance with the SIST ISO 1996:2017 standard. Additional sensors enable the monitoring of traffic, wind, and precipitation. |

| SensWare platform – Real-time processing and display of collected data
By expanding the network of Alfacen monitoring stations and processing and displaying data on the SensWare platform, Alfa Proxima is making a significant contribution to our understanding of air quality through its sophisticated monitoring system. Another important aspect of the company’s work is raising awareness about the harmful effects of air pollution on public health. SensWare software supports the concept of monitoring the Air Quality Index (AQI) which enables easy interpretation of data at any given moment and a better understanding of air quality for the widest range of users. All collected data is available on the SensWare platform, where users can monitor air quality in real time. Monitoring locations are carefully selected in corporation with clients and experts.
In doing so, topographical characteristics, such as basins, the area’s ventilation and other important factors that influence site selections are taken into account. For example, other sources of pollution, such as traffic, industry, heating plants, etc. Population density is also taken into account, with special attention given to preschools, schools, and residential areas.

The mobile app for monitoring air quality (AQI) gives you a quick and simple overview of current air pollution levels in your area. Using accurate, real-time data, you can track key indicators, such as PM2.5, PM10, NO2 and O3.
